Meeting the BEPS Challenge Webinar

< 1 min read

The Clean Energy DC Omnibus Amendment Act of 2018 established the District of Columbia’s (DC) Building Energy Performance Standard (BEPS). This policy requires DC buildings to use less energy than an allowed maximum level of energy use. For buildings that do not meet the BEPS, building owners must take steps to reduce their building’s energy use over a 5-year compliance cycle or face financial penalties for non-compliance. Because the policy is designed to continuously drive building energy use down, BEPS will change the way everyone in the DC market thinks about and plans for building energy use.

In this webinar, Baumann Consulting’s Scott Emery will explain what BEPS is, how it will impact almost every building in DC, how to comply, and the steps that every DC building owner and project manager should be taking today to avoid major financial penalties in the coming years.

At the end of this one-hour webinar you will:
• Know what is BEPS, understand the BEPS timeline, and know when to act
• Understand the six ways to comply with BEPS and how to avoid alternative compliance penalties
• Have a framework for developing your building-specific plan for ongoing BEPS compliance
• Understand BEPS’s potential to impact long-term asset management and planning in DC
