BAUMANN CONSULTING ANNOUNCES ACHIEVEMENT OF THE WELL HEALTH-SAFETY RATING FOR BAUMANN CONSULTING DC HEADQUARTERS – 1424 K ST NW, SUITE 500

The rating demonstrates leadership in employee health and safety, highlighting practices such as emergency procedures, indoor environmental quality, psychological and wellness support, and viral response measures.

Washington, D.C., – July 20, 2023 – Baumann Consulting announced today it has earned the WELL Health-Safety Rating for its Baumann Consulting Headquarters in Washington, DC through the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). The WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified rating for all new and existing building and space types focusing on operational policies, maintenance protocols, stakeholder engagement, and emergency plans to address a post-COVID-19 environment now and into the future.

Designed to empower owners and operators across large and small businesses alike to take the necessary steps to prioritize the health and safety of their staff, visitors, and stakeholders, the WELL Health-Safety Rating can help guide users in preparing their spaces for re-entry in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, instilling confidence in those who come through the building as well as the broader community.

As a transatlantic leader in energy efficiency and sustainability consulting, we’re providing our expertise to transform our clients’ buildings into healthier spaces that foster the well-being and safety of their occupants. It is natural to apply the same standard to our own working environment and we are thrilled that our Washington DC office is officially certified according to the WELL Health-Safety Rating. This is also a commitment to our overall ESG initiative as a company."

Baumann Consulting Washington DC office, 1424 K StreetIn order to achieve WELL Health-Safety Rating, Baumann Consulting DC Headquarters is implementing features such as developing emergency preparedness programs and viral response protocols, ensuring indoor environmental quality, providing health services to employees, and supporting thorough cleaning and sanitization. The team in the DC office focused on strategies across five WELL Health-Safety concepts, including cleaning and sanitization, emergency preparedness, health service resource, air and water quality, stakeholder engagement, and a few innovations.

With cleaning and sanitization procedures, high-touch surfaces can be identified to develop a cleaning protocol focused on reducing the spread of germs. The focus on emergency preparedness programs required a thorough review of possible hazards and expanded the emergency response procedures to include additional risks that hadn’t been addressed before. Achieving the health service resources strategies helped to bring awareness to health programs available to Baumann employees, such as the Employee Assistance Program which offers free mental health and financial counseling. Finally, the office achieved several innovation points for unique features such as bike racks in the office and having WELL Accredited Professionals (AP) working on the project.

At Baumann Consulting, we believe that our employees are our most valuable asset. With that, providing a healthy environment and superior benefits is crucial. By achieving the WELL Health-Safety Rating, we are validating our efforts and commitment to our staff. Our sustainability team is dedicated to earning green building certifications, not only for our clients but also for our own firm. We constantly strive to increase our impact on a sustainable real estate industry by utilizing global best practices and encouraging our staff to learn and provide cutting-edge services."

The WELL Health-Safety Rating provides a centralized source and governing body to validate efforts made by owners and operators. It leverages insights drawn from the IWBI Task Force on COVID-19, in addition to guidance on the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory infections developed by the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), global disease control and prevention centers and emergency management agencies, as well as recognized standard-making associations such as ASTM International and ASHRAE, and leading academic and research institutions, as well as core principles already established by IWBI’s WELL Building Standard, the premier framework for advancing health in buildings and spaces of all kinds.

Baumann Consulting DC Headquarters was awarded the WELL Health-Safety Rating following the successful completion of a third-party documentation review by GBCI to confirm it has met the feature-specific intents and requirements.
