UI LABS was created to bring together University and Industry in a research environment to develop and apply solutions to critical economic and industrial challenges. The goal of UI LABS is to attract and retain the best and brightest, enhancing Chicago and the Midwest as a destination for talent and technology.
UI LABS’ first program – the national Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII) – brings together 40+ global manufacturing and technology companies with 30+ university, government and community partners. DMDII is reinventing manufacturing for the 21st century. Through applied research and demonstration projects, training and workforce development, and education and outreach, DMDII will infuse advanced digital technologies and big data into today’s manufacturing practices.
Aligned with UI LABS’ goal of advancing applied research, Baumann Consulting’s Commissioning Services for DMDII include our unique Operation Diagnostics methodology. This advanced visualization method, developed over a decade of research related to our involvement in the International Energy Agency (IEA) Energy in Buildings and Communities Program, allows us to turn complex building automation data into actionable operations optimization strategies.
