Gateway Gardens, an impressive new development project aimed at providing a sustainable, mixed-use hub adjacent to the Frankfurt International Airport, will be one of the first districts in the country to be certified under the DGNB German Sustainable Building Council standard. In order to meet the ambitious energy consumption and emission reduction targets for the site, buildings must be built and operated in accordance with the rigorous specifications of the German Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV), which many buildings are set to exceed by 30% or more.
