Baumann Consulting has been successfully prequalified with the Capital Development Board (CDB) in Illinois to pursuit small and large projects provided by CDB through the State of Illinois. Due to the high energy consumption of buildings, they are at the forefront to reduce our carbon footprint and the CDB has increasingly set ambitious targets within its Division of Building Codes and Regulations. The state of Illinois has adopted statewide mandates for the local building codes of Illinois which are in line with Baumann Consulting’s mission to positively impact the lives of our client partners and their communities and to elevate high performance buildings from a niche segment of the market to the industry standard.
The Baumann Consulting Chicago office pursued this qualification to demonstrate its commitment to the state of Illinois, and to engage better with local communities and surrounding neighborhoods within Chicago and across the entire state. The Capital Development Board is the “construction manager” for the capital projects of the state of Illinois and its public universities. “The CDB manages projects that positively touch the lives of almost every Illinois citizen with work on colleges and universities, public safety centers, museums, and historic sites, state parks, health centers, office buildings, and correctional centers.” CDB has responsibilities for the renovation and capital upkeep of the almost 8,800 properties owned by the state, and for the construction of new buildings if required.
