Frankfurt, Germany, June 2013.

Ebert & Baumann Consulting Engineers, Inc. has chosen former EB employee Lutz Miersch to head the company’s newest office in Frankfurt, Germany. Opening up an office in Frankfurt was an obvious choice for EB, as it allows the EB team to be closer to many of the company’s projects and clients. EB has over 20 projects located in the greater Frankfurt area and over 60 in all of Germany. The location will also help EB to strengthen relationships with its German clients and provide an on-site presence, when necessary.

Lutz earned his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1995 from the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg. Since receiving his degree, Lutz has gained international experience by working for multiple companies on both sides of the Atlantic. He worked for several MEP engineering consulting companies in Germany, before moving to the United States in 2006. In 2007, he joined Ebert & Baumann Consulting Engineers, Inc. (EB) in their Washington DC office as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Head of the company’s MEP Group. While working for EB, Lutz worked on Commissioning, LEED and Design projects in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. His knowledge of American and German standards made him an important asset to the company. From 2012 to 2013, Lutz served as a Senior Project Manager and Head of the MEP Group for a German company in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

In May 2013, Lutz returned to EB to manage and expand EB’s office in Frankfurt, Germany. His international experience and his previous time at EB have prepared him well for this position. The Frankfurt office will offer the same services as the U.S.-based offices, including LEED Consulting, Commissioning, Energy Audits, Energy Master Planning, and Technical Due Diligence, among others. EB will also offer DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) certification services.
