3 min read

Baumann is pleased to announce that Green Building Consultant Meredith Marsh has been awarded the Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC®) certification by the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS).

With this certification, Meredith joins an elite group of high-performance building professionals in North America who are driven to elevate the energy efficient building industry. PHIUS’s flagship CPHC training is the first and still the only passive house designer training geared to North American climate and market conditions. Participants learn passive building principles, get extensive training in passive and hygrothermal modeling using WUFI Passive, and learn to design and execute commercial, residential and retrofit projects. The CPHC credential is the leading, most rigorous passive house design professional certification available. PHIUS-trained CPHCs are leading adoption of passive house by designing and building quality-assured passive projects — single family, multifamily and commercial — across North America’s varied climate zones.

Meredith joined Baumann Consulting’s Green Building and Facility Management Group as a Green Building Consultant in 2013. In this role, she provides expertise on a range of projects including international LEED certifications, energy audits, building performance analyses and building envelope commissioning (BECx) services. Meredith has presented at various conferences and made numerous media appearances as a subject-matter expert on energy efficiency and high-performance building. Meredith’s skillset includes a variety of green building certification systems and standards, including LEED, Passive House and Living Building Challenge. She is actively involved with Chicago’s green building community, serving on the board of the local chapter of the Passive House Alliance since 2013 and as a contributor to the local Living Building Challenge collaborative.

Baumann congratulates Meredith on her accomplishment and is proud to have her diverse experience on the team.

The Passive House Building Energy Standard promoted by PHIUS is the most rigorous building energy standard in the world. Certified Passive House Consultants who have obtained the right through PHIUS to carry the graphic passive house logo and the CPHC designation, have committed themselves to design excellence and the passive house energy performance and quality criteria.

CPHC® is a certification mark of Passive House Institute US (PHIUS). Used under license.
