Baumann to Present on BECx at 9th Annual North American Passive House Conference in SFO

September 12, 2014

Chicago, IL, July 2014.

We are excited to announce that our own Meredith Marsh, M.Sc., LEED AP BD+C has been selected to present at this year’s North American Passive House Conference (NAPHC), to be held September 12-13th in San Francisco.

Meredith’s presentation, entitled “Pushing the Envelope: Leveraging Passive House in Commercial Construction” will examine the potential synergies between building enclosure commissioning (BECx) and the Passive House standard to deliver high-performance enclosures, from requirements to results. The session will focus on how building performance practitioners can adapt to the challenges of commercial construction by leveraging their skills with the coming demand for envelope commissioning under the new requirements of LEED v4 and supported by the standards from ASHRAE, NIBS, and ASTM. This emerging practice area supports the design and development of energy-efficient buildings that are durable, comfortable and inexpensive to operate.

Each year the PHIUS North American Passive House Conference brings together leading national and international passive builders, policy makers, energy consultants, architects, academics, energy media members and consumers for the largest passive building event on the continent. For more details and to register to attend, please visit: http://naphc2014.phius.org.

Meredith joined Baumann Consulting’s Green Building and Facility Management Group in 2013. Her skills and expertise include a number of green building certifications and standards, including LEED, Passive House and Living Building Challenge. She is actively involved with the Living Building Challenge Collaborative in Chicago and has served as a board member of the Chicago chapter of the Passive House Alliance U.S. since 2013. In her role as a Green Building Consultant at Baumann, Meredith provides expertise on a wide range of projects including LEED certifications for U.S. and international projects, energy audits, building performance analyses and building envelope commissioning (BECx) services. Meredith holds a B.A. in Art History and German from Louisiana State University and a M.Sc. in Historic Preservation and Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania.
