Denver, CO, July 1, 2014.

Baumann Consulting (Baumann) is thrilled to announce the opening of their new office location in Denver, Colorado on July 1, 2014.

James Brew, Denver Office Director and Chief Building Scientist, is joined by Torsten Biernat, Head of Green Building & Facility Management in Baumann’s transition from Boulder to the Mile-High City. Building Performance Analyst Amir Rezaei-Bazkiaei, who earned his Ph.D. in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering at the University at Buffalo this spring, will round out Baumann’s Denver team.

Baumann’s new office is located at INDUSTRY, a collaborative office community located between downtown Denver and the Brighton corridor at the gateway to new development in the River North (RiNo) neighborhood (industrydenver.com). Completed in April of this year, INDUSTRY’s repurposed industrial space offers an interactive work environment to promote new opportunities between tenant companies. Within the INDUSTRY model, companies create, develop, interact and achieve with common business goals to enable strong growth and maximize efficiencies. This innovative work environment perfectly aligns with Baumann’s focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, creativity and leadership.

“As the newest member of the INDUSTRY community, Baumann strengthens its commitment to the Denver region,” stated James Brew, Denver Office Director. “Baumann is excited about becoming a part of INDUSTRY’s synergistic work environment and culture of cross-pollination to foster new collaborations.”

Denver’s forward-thinking sustainability measures align with Baumann’s goals of pushing the envelope of high performance in buildings. The Denver Office of Sustainability, in collaboration with business leaders, nonprofits, and city agencies, developed the 2020 Sustainability Goals and a long-term roadmap to promote sustainable development practices for the benefit of the city, county and region at large. Additionally, the region’s world-class universities and research institutions, such as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), offer the opportunity for Baumann to collaborate with and support client partners and attract young talent.

“Denver’s position as a clean tech industry hub makes the city a natural fit for Baumann,” explains Oliver Baumann, President of Baumann Consulting. “Our Denver office allows us to serve our client partners at the local level.”

Baumann is eager to continue building partnerships with the Rocky Mountain region’s design and construction industry. By further strengthening its commitment to the Denver region, Baumann supports its mission of elevating high-performance building from a niche segment of the market to the industry standard.
