Washington, D.C., May 2014.

Baumann Consulting (Baumann) today announced a fundamental commitment to protect the environment by becoming an ENERGY STAR Partner. Baumann’s voluntary partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR means that we will be working toward helping our clients improve the energy efficiency and performance of their facilities; we believe that an organization-wide energy management approach will help our clients enhance their financial health and aid in preserving the environment for future generations.

“We are very excited to embark on this new collaboration,” says Oliver Baumann, President. “Teaming up with industry partners to promote energy efficiency is essential to achieve the goal of propelling high-performance buildings from a niche segment of the market to the industry standard.”

In partnership with ENERGY STAR, we will help our clients to:

– Measure and track the energy performance of their facilities at all locations.
– Set a goal to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings by 10% or more, in support of the ENERGY STAR Challenge

We will also:

– Encourage our staff and community to learn about the benefits of energy efficiency and to implement appropriate energy efficiency measures
– Encourage our client partners to join ENERGY STAR and take the ENERGY STAR Challenge

Baumann’s mission is to help its clients enhance the value of their assets while also increasing overall performance. Since roughly 40% of the developed world’s energy usage comes from buildings, the impact potential for these services is significant. On average, the operating costs of a commissioned building range from 8% to 20% below that of a non-commissioned building. By offering enhanced commissioning services, including building envelope commissioning (BECx) as required for the new LEED v4, Baumann helps clients improve the durability, longevity and healthy indoor environment of their facilities.

Regardless of project size or scope, from a single building to an entire campus or county, Baumann achieves measurable results. To date, Baumann has helped over half a dozen communities and universities develop strategies to achieve significant and measurable impacts on their greenhouse gas and carbon emissions over the next 25 to 40 years.
