Michael Bitting joined Baumann’s Washington D.C. office in 2021 as a Sustainability Consultant. He brings 17 years in the sustainability and green building industry. Michael’s focus is green building certifications for projects in the United States and internationally. He is also a Member of Baumann’s Sustainability Committee. Michael graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Johns Hopkins University with a Master’s in Environmental Science. He is an accredited LEED AP BD+C.

Prior to Baumann, Michael worked as the Chief Code Enforcement Officer and Environmental Planner with a Maryland Municipality as well as a Senior LEED Reviewer performing quality assurance reviews across various sectors and training junior staff. He also worked as a Sustainability Associate for a consulting firm advising best practices in green building construction and energy and facilities management.
