Atefeh Salehi is a Building Performance Analyst & Commissioning Engineer for Baumann’s Frankfurt office. She has more than 20 years of experience as an architect and 10+ years of experience in building simulation. Atefeh is a member of Baumann’s Building Simulation Committee and recently presented “Scope of Building Optimization with Energy Modeling” at BauSIM2022.
Atefeh received her Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy Systems at the MIT-Portugal Program. During her Ph.D. program, she was part of the EMSURE research project (Energy and Mobility for Sustainable Regions) at the University of Coimbra in Portugal.
Prior to joining Baumann, Atefeh worked for different planning and consulting companies and research centers in Iran, Portugal, and Germany. Her experience includes energy modeling of existing, new residential, and commercial buildings, CFD simulations of mechanical ventilation of office buildings, modeling calibration and validation with real-time monitoring data, life cycle assessments, and cost-benefit analysis.
As a teaching assistant, Atefeh co-supervised students on their master’s thesis in building energy performance. She has also served as a Reviewer of some journals in the field of sustainability and energy:( 1- Sustainable Cities and Society, 2- Environment, Development and Sustainability journals).
