Sustainability Consultant – German Speaking

We are looking for a Sustainability Consultant with Strong German Language Skills to join our team in Washington, D.C. You will be an integral part of our Sustainability Team in the US and Germany.

In the role of a Sustainability Consultant, you will be expected to develop and document sustainable solutions for projects and coordinate them with the project team. Using prescribed methods, you will produce green building assessment reports and present materials to project teams and clients. It is expected that you will exercise good judgment and seek the guidance of supervisors and/or other team members when less common methods or procedures are necessary. Your supervisor will screen assignments for unusual complexities and assist with the selection of non-routine techniques and procedures to be applied.

Your typical duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: 

• Green Building Consulting services for LEED, WELL, Fitwel or other certification systems.
• Develop and document sustainable solutions for projects and coordinate them with the project team (e.g. architects, MEP designer, contractors, and clients, etc.).
• Produce green building assessment reports and present materials to multi-disciplinary project teams and clients.
• Actively engage in marketing and business development for the company through expanding your professional networks, involvement in professional societies, client outreach, writing blogs, publishing and presenting technical papers, and other applicable activities and initiatives.
• Adhere to Baumann’s business standards, quality procedures, and record keeping policies.
• Foster a pro-active and collaborative communication and work-style with co-workers and project partners.
• Work as part of multidisciplinary teams (including, but not limited to attending meetings with architects, planners, contractors, and clients, etc.). 
• Work on international projects that require communication with multicultural project teams.

• Attained technical degree in the field of architecture/building services engineering/sustainable building or a related subject area
• 3-5 years of proven professional experience in the field of sustainability certifications
• Existing qualification as LEED GA/AP, desirable
• Good knowledge in project management of planning and construction projects
• Very good written and spoken German and English, German Language skill is a requirement. 
• Competence to work on international projects and in teams
• High level of initiative and a clearly structured, results-oriented work style
• Willingness to travel on business
