Baumann Staff Volunteer at Chicago Architecture Foundation’s Engineering Fest

< 1 min read

This past month Baumann’s Meredith Marsh, Green Building Consultant, and Maher Maymoun, Energy Engineer, volunteered at the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s annual Engineering Fest. Each year this event brings together hundreds of families for two days of fun, free hands-on activities that celebrate the creativity and ingenuity in the world around us and teach kids ages 3-12 why design matters. Volunteers are stationed at one of six stations covering various disciplines of engineering: civil, environmental, structural, mechanical, electrical and acoustic. Maher helped kids of all ages create their own wind turbines, and Meredith helped attendees as they tried to see who could build the tallest towers from building blocks. We were thrilled to meet the families that came out for this great event and look forward to participating again next year!

The Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) inspires people to discover why design matters. CAF is the leading organization devoted to celebrating and promoting Chicago as a center of architectural innovation. CAF awakens young people to achieve their potential through the discovery of architecture, engineering and design.
